Purpose

The Vineyard is a living archive dedicated to preserving meaningful discoveries. Rather than following strict chronology, its collections are cultivated seasonally, allowing each chapter to grow alongside the archive itself. Entries may include creative works, artists, games, music, observations, and resources selected for their lasting significance or their capacity to bring comfort.The archive is intended to grow continually. Collections are expanded, revised, and revisited as new experiences shape the Vineyard. No edition should be considered complete.

Alolan Persian

Acquired at the age of eight when she was in Malie City to visit the library. Torenia was reading her book in Malie Garden when an Alolan Meowth approached and curled up next to her. When she got up to leave, the Alolan Meowth followed her and her attempts to discourage it (for fear her parents wouldn’t approve) were ignored. Reluctantly, she returned home with it and to her surprise, her parents agreed she could keep it as a pet. Because of this, for many years it did not have a poke ball.After the events of Pokemon Sun and Moon, Torenia was able to use a Friend Ball for the Pokemon so it could travel with her easier. He is her oldest companion but still just as eager to battle when she needs his support.

Crobat

When Team Skull arrived in Po Town, they worked to recruit the teens living there who were frustrated with their families. Torenia was eager to help them, especially hoping to get back at her parents for their neglect, and so Guzma and Plumeria agreed to let her join if she could pass their test. He handed her a Nest Ball and told her to go to the Thrifty Megamart (Abandoned Site) and catch a Pokemon alone.Armed with just her nerves and the Nest Ball, Torenia went and managed to catch a Golbat and she became Torenia’s first teammate. Due to Team Skull generally losing most battles, it was hard for her to level Golbat up and the friendship levels were kept in flux during her time in Alola. Once Torenia began her training and travels in Kalos, it wasn’t long before Golbat finally evolved into Crobat. She’s very loyal and quite chill but sometimes forgets how big she is and tries to hang off Torenia’s braids.

Spiritomb

After making her way to Kalos, Torenia goes to the Friend Safari in Kiloude City to work on building her team. Her cousin Sedna suggested it as that’s where she got her Pokemon and Torenia is eager to find a Fairy Type as that’s what Kalos is known for discovering. She spends what feels like hours in one patch of grass looking for a Fairy Type, but they keep running from her. As dusk falls, she doesn’t realize that at night the patch shifts to Ghost Type.Once more, failing a Pokemon that has run from her, Torenia hears a sparkle and behind her there’s an odd warped sound of laughter. She turns somewhat warily, only to be surprised by the sight of a shiny Spiritomb giggling at her.Having read enough to know the rarity of both shinies and Spiritomb, Torenia inwardly panics and begins offering the pokemon a lot of berries in hopes it won’t run. Still wary it will, she offers a Rainbow Poke Bean she has from back home. Appeased by this and charmed by the fact the human doesn’t seem scared of her, the Spiritomb is caught in the first ball Torenia throws: a Love Ball (she intended to throw a Dusk Ball).Spiritomb, who had been ostracized by her fellow kind for her odd looks, adores Torenia and bonds with her right away. At first, she isn’t keen on Poke Puffs, preferring Poke Beans instead, but with time she comes around to the Kalos treat. She’s quite quirky and loves to laugh, even if sometimes it’s at Torenia’s expense.

Aromatisse

After catching her Spiritomb, Torenia returned to the Friend Safari and snagged a sleepy Spritzee in a Dream Ball. The little Spritzee perched on her shoulder as she wrote local news stories, inspiring Torenia to evolve her with a rare Sachet.Yet weeks of fruitless searches—herbalists in Coumarine, Fairy trainers in Laverre, breeders at the Daycare—yielded nothing. Then, when back in Lumiose City covering an event, she discovered a "best smelling Pokémon" contest at a perfumery, with the Sachet as top prize.Grooming Spritzee and feeding her a rainbow Poké Bean, Torenia entered her against pampered rivals. And to her surprise, the fairy’s simple charm won over the judges, securing the Sachet at last. She then traded the Spritzee temporarily to Sedna to allow her to evolve into Aromatisse.

Wormadam

While traveling past the Berry Fields, Torenia was approached by their caretaker to assist with a problem he said “only a skilled trainer could manage.” Apparently his recent crop had been infested with some Bug Pokemon and he had been unable to drive them away.The worst, he said, was a green berry tree that was covered in several Burmy. Torenia eyed the green berry tree, its branches sagging under the weight of the Burmy clinging to it like living ornaments. To avoid damaging the tree, she released her Pokémon and directed them to gently shake the branches to dislodge the pests without harming the crop. Most tumbled down and scattered into the underbrush, but one weak, battered Burmy lingered, its cloak tattered and incomplete.Her heart softened at the sight. Instead of battling harshly, she caught it gently in a Heal Ball, the pink glow enveloping it restoratively. It didn't resist. The caretaker handed over a basket of fresh berries as thanks.As Torenia journeyed on, the Burmy joined her team and grew stronger. Weeks later, amid the bustling streets of a city and its debris, it evolved during a heated battle into a Trash Coat Wormadam, armored with urban refuse for surprising toughness. Torenia felt proud of her Pokémon’s now sturdy body and improved health and she often lets her out when in busy cities as the environment seems to calm her.

Slowbro

Torenia received an urgent task from her boss, Mable, at the research lab: collect Sharpedo scales for ecosystem testing in the newly established Wild Zone 10. Deeply unhappy about the assignment, since she absolutely despised getting her meticulously chosen outfits muddy or wet, she sighed and gathered her supplies, determined to complete it swiftly despite her reluctance.As she approached the massive gate to the zone and walked inside, a lone Slowpoke lounged idly near the entrance, its vacant gaze fixed on nothing. Undeterred, Torenia ventured inside, but the Slowpoke soon began following her at a leisurely pace through the shifting terrain of grass, concrete and man-made ponds. It trailed her persistently wherever she went, even during intense encounters where other wild Pokémon, like snarling Carvanha or territorial Sharpedo, launched attacks, yet the Slowpoke remained nearby, standing in a state of utter, blissful unconcern, yawning lazily amid the chaos.After several grueling hours of wading through knee-deep waters, dodging razor-sharp fins, and battling amid splashing waves all while her clothes grew increasingly soiled and her frustration mounted, Torenia finally relented. With a resigned gesture, she pulled out a Dive Ball and captured the persistent Slowpoke, the device clicking shut after a brief wobble. Accepting it as an unexpected and oddly endearing companion, she exited the zone with her bag full of glistening scales, ready to report back to Mable.It turned out her new catch was a defensive tank with a great nature that boosted that aspect even more. Given his loyalty and carefree nature, he became a clutch player in many Z-A Royale battles. Finally, after reaching rank G, Torenia earned her keystone from Quasartico and to her surprise, Mable gifted her a Slowbronite stone while muttering something about “a bigger idiot for an idiot.” The now Slowbro is her only mega.
